The short answer
On the Bangson BSW washing machine line, clean water that drips whether or not the machine is running is a supply-side fitting under mains pressure. Soapy water that appears during a cycle is the door, the drawer or the drain path. What changes against the brand-generic answer is the order of the checks, not the list of causes.
The observations that matter on a BSW unit
- Foam escaping from the drawer or around the door — Overdosing rather than a fault, and one correctly dosed cycle proves it. This is what an owner of a BSW washing machine sees first.
- Water only at the end of the cycle — The drain phase is the only time the drain hose is pressurised, so that timing names it.
- A rumbling noise alongside the leak — That combination suggests the drum bearing seal, which is the serious version of this fault.
- NEAR MISS: water is coming from a nearby sink or standpipe — Worth ruling out first; a shared waste hides which appliance is wet.
Ranked causes on the BSW line
- Too much detergent, or the wrong kind — Ranked first because it is the most common and the most completely free: foam climbs past the drawer and the door seal and lands on the floor from a healthy machine. This holds its place across the BSW models listed below.
- A split or perished drain hose — The leak follows the drain phase, because that is the only time the hose carries pressure.
- A blocked drain path forcing water out elsewhere — The link people miss: water that cannot leave finds the weakest joint, so a drainage fault presents as a leak.
- A failed drum bearing seal or a split tub — Last, and the only one that is not owner work. It leaks from underneath at the back and it arrives with a rumble.
Check in this order, and why
- Pull the door seal fold back all the way round — Look for trapped objects, tears and hardened sections, and feel for grease. The BSW layout is the reason it comes first here.
- Pull the detergent drawer right out and look at the housing behind it — Scale and softener sludge back the water up and out of the front.
- Check the inlet hose fittings and their washers by hand — Look for mineral trails, which mark a slow leak that predates the puddle.
- Check the filter cover is seated square and its seal is intact — Especially if anyone has cleaned the filter recently.
