The short answer
A Avanti WCSE cabinet that runs and stays warm is telling you that the cold is either not being made or not getting to the load, and on this family those two possibilities are separated in the first two minutes. What you observe on these models
- The cabinet is warm and the machine is plainly running — A unit that is working and never arriving is the presentation this page is about, and it is not the same fault as a cabinet that is silent.
- It runs continuously and never settles — On a wine cabinet a cycle that never ends means the machine has lost either its heat path or its air path — it has not lost its will to cool.
- One part of the interior is right and another is not — A temperature that varies across the cabinet is an airflow report.
- NEAR MISS — the cabinet is silent and nothing is cold — That is a power, start-relay or control fault rather than a cooling fault, and it belongs on a different page.
Causes, most likely first on WCSE
- A failed circulation or condenser fan — A fan that has seized, slowed or lost its supply removes the moving air the design depends on, and the fault appears as a cabinet that is cold in one place and warm everywhere else. On a thermoelectric model the fans are the cooling system, so a dead fan is a dead cabinet. - Blocked airflow inside the cabinet — Cold that is made correctly and then cannot circulate produces exactly the same complaint as cold that was never made: a warm cabinet with a machine that is plainly working.
- The door and its seal — A glass or gasketed door that no longer pulls up tight lets room air in continuously, and the machine answers by running without ever arriving.

Check in this order, and why that order
- Start at the heat path: establish which cooling type you have — a compressor cycles audibly, a thermoelectric module runs a constant fan and never thumps — The racks come out first, then the interior rear panel or the base plinth; on a built-in the cabinet must be drawn out of its opening before any panel is touched.
- Read the set point and then read a thermometer — Put a thermometer in a glass of water in the cabinet overnight rather than measuring air.
- Look at how the cabinet is loaded and where the air returns — The set-point band is narrow, so a fault that would be invisible in a food refrigerator shows up here as a visible temperature error within hours, so pull the load a hand-width off the rear wall and give it a day before concluding anything.

When to call a technician
Call when the cooling type is compressor and the fault is not the door, the racking load or the room. Call immediately if you can smell burning, if the machine trips protection repeatedly, or if there is oil rather than water in the machine bay — oil outside the tubing means the circuit is open, and every hour it runs after that costs more to put right.
