The short answer
On the Arctic Wind ATLG washer line, water that will not drain is worth working through in a set order: a drain hose that is kinked, too high, or pushed too far into the standpipe first, then a blocked pump filter or coin trap, and only after those does the work that needs a meter or a teardown enter the picture. That order is written for a single-model line and sequenced for how these models are put together, which is where it departs from the brand-generic article.
What you observe
- The problem started right after the machine was moved — A hose crushed against a wall is the classic post-move drainage fault.
- The drum is full at the end and the pump can be heard trying — A pump working with no water moving is the signature of a blockage rather than a failure.
- NEAR MISS — water is on the floor rather than in the drum — That is a leak and it has its own page; deal with the water before the drainage.
Causes, most likely first on the ATLG line
- The drain hose is kinked, too high, or pushed too far into the standpipe — First on this list: a drain hose crushed behind the machine after it was pushed back, or one shoved so far down a standpipe that it siphons, stops drainage without anything inside the machine being wrong at all — and it is the fault most often created by moving the machine.
- The pump filter or coin trap is blocked — The pump filter is where drainage faults start, and opening it needs nothing but towels and a tray.
- The pump impeller is jammed or the pump housing is blocked — A jammed impeller buzzes rather than pumps, and that noise separates it cleanly from a dead pump.

Check in this order, and why
- Pull the machine out and follow the drain hose along its whole run — Look for crushing, kinks, and how far the end sits inside the standpipe. Done first because it separates the likeliest causes before any tool is needed.
- Open the pump filter and look at what comes out — Second: it confirms or dismisses what the first check suggested.
- With the power off, reach into the filter housing and turn the impeller by hand — Third, once the two checks above are clean.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before opening the pump filter — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and the filter housing sits close to the electrics. Expect a lot of water: a full drum empties through that filter, so work with a shallow tray and towels and unscrew slowly. Never force a locked door on a full drum.
