What the display is telling you
FEE7 means the control has found a problem with the broil element at the top of the main cavity, or with its wiring. Broiling will not work, and preheat may be slower because many ovens use the top element to help; baking may still run, but browning and timing will be off.

| FEE7 | There may be a problem with the main cavity broil element or the associated wiring. |
What you notice alongside FEE7
- Broil produces no heat — The defining symptom.
- Preheat is slower than it used to be — The top element often assists preheat.
- Food does not brown on top — Bake still works, but top heat is missing.
- NEAR MISS: the bottom element is the one not heating — That is the bake side, a neighbouring code.
What triggers FEE7, ranked
- Broil element burned open — The most common cause: the element breaks or blisters with age, often visibly.
- Burnt terminal at the element — Second: the connections where the element passes through the rear wall overheat and char.
- Wiring to the element — Third: heat-damaged insulation or a loose connector above the cavity.
- Relay not switching broil — Last: checked only once the element and wiring test good.
Diagnostic order
- Look at the top element, oven cold — Breaks and blisters are usually easy to see.
- Run broil for a few minutes — A healthy element glows evenly from end to end.
- Check the breaker — Both handles should sit firmly on.
- Have element and terminals measured — Power-off resistance checks, then the connection at the rear wall.
Reset and owner-safe checks
- Visual inspection — With the oven cold and the breaker off, look along the broil element for breaks, blisters or burn marks.

- Short broil test — With the door set the way the manual directs for broiling, run broil and watch whether the element glows evenly.
About 5 min
- Breaker check — Make sure both handles of the oven’s breaker are firmly on.

- STOP here if the next check needs a panel off — Anything behind a panel is a power-off technician job, and the tests that follow it are made on live circuits.
Safety first
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. With the breaker off, press a key to confirm the display stays dark before you touch anything behind a panel. Element terminals carry full line voltage; keep the breaker off until the element is replaced and its connection checked.
When a reset is not enough
Call when the broil element shows damage, stays dark on a broil test, or the code returns after a reset. Replacing the element includes checking the terminals behind the rear wall, which are often burnt along with it, and that is power-off technician work.

Which models this reading covers
Generalized information for Jenn-Air wall ovens and ranges whose electronic control reports codes in this form. It is not a reading for Jenn-Air models with knob-only controls, Jenn-Air cooktops and microwaves, which keep their own code lists, or sister brands built on the same platform, whose lists can read differently. The details that change inside the line, such as wiring colours, part numbers and connector locations, belong on model pages, and none is published for FEE7 yet.
