The short answer
F25 reports a problem with the power supply to the cooktop. The appliance has looked at what it is being fed and found it outside what it can work with, so the fault is as likely to be in the circuit as in the unit — and the circuit is much cheaper to check.

| F25 | There is a problem with power supply to the cooktop. |
What you observe, and what to record
- The cooktop will not start, or starts and stops — The supply is being checked before power is committed to any zone.
- Whether the code is steady or intermittent — A fault that is present every time is far quicker to find than one that comes and goes, and the two are diagnosed differently.
- Whether the display shows anything besides the code — A second code, a flashing indicator or a missing segment is information the code number alone does not carry.
Causes, most likely first on this cooktop
- A loose or corroded connection in the cooktop circuit — First, because it produces every symptom on this page and it is the cheapest thing to find. High-current connections that relax heat up, and heating loosens them further.
- A missing or weak supply leg — Second: it is why a cooktop can look half alive, and a double-pole breaker that has lost one pole looks perfectly normal from the front.
- An undersized or overloaded circuit — Third: a cooktop sharing a circuit it was never meant to share sees voltage sag every time something else starts.
Check in this order, and why
- Switch the cooktop breaker fully off and back on — A partly tripped pole does not look tripped and this is how you find it.
- Note whether lights dim when the cooktop starts — Free, and it is strong evidence for a connection problem.
- Record which zones work and at what power — The pattern separates a supply fault from an appliance fault.
What an owner can safely check
- Cycle the cooktop breaker fully off and on — Deliberately, with a definite off position rather than a nudge.
About 5 min
- Stop using the ${A} if anything smells hot or looks scorched — Discolouring at a connection or a plug is heat, and heat at a connection does not improve on its own.
About 5 min
- Photograph the display with the code showing — Codes are easy to transcribe wrongly and a photograph is not. It also timestamps the fault, which matters if it becomes intermittent.
About 5 min
- STOP HERE — do not open the isolator or terminal block — This is an electrician's work and the currents involved are substantial.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. An induction surface leaves the pan hot even where the glass beneath reads cool, so treat the cooking area as hot until you have checked it, and keep the residual-heat indication in view while you work.
When to call a technician
Call an electrician if anything is warm or discoloured at the isolator, if lights dim when the cooktop starts, or if only part of the cooktop works. Call an appliance technician once the circuit has been confirmed healthy. Warmth at a connection is the one finding that should stop the cooktop being used at all until it has been dealt with.

What this page does not cover
This page reads F25 for Jenn-Air cooktops in general, from the manufacturer's shared code index. A code can be documented differently for one family, so where a model-line page exists for your unit it is the more specific answer and is linked below. Not here: wiring colours, connector positions and part numbers, which differ by family.
