Safety
Unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker before removing the condenser, opening any access panel or reaching into the sump — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Condensate is not clean water: it carries lint and detergent residue, so wear gloves and do not let it stand in the cabinet. Never run a condensing dryer with the condenser removed.
The line between a fix and a call
Call a technician when the tank fills correctly but the pump never runs, when water is collecting in the base of the machine, or when the tank-full indicator will not clear with a clean, correctly seated tank. Call sooner if water has been standing in the cabinet, because it will reach a connector eventually.
