The short answer
If a Euhomy is leaking foam, aborting cycles or leaving residue on everything, check what went into the detergent compartment before anything else. Hand dish soap foams enormously in a machine that was designed for low-foaming powder or tablets, and the result looks like a catastrophic failure. After that, the causes are the usual countertop ones: fill, drain and filter.
The problems that actually happen, by what you observe
- Foam escaping around the door or under the machine — Wrong detergent, almost always. The machine is not leaking; it is overflowing with suds.
- Cycle aborts or the machine stops with a warning — Foam reaching the base pan lifts the anti-flood float.
- A film or streaks on everything after a cycle — Detergent that could not be rinsed away at that concentration.
- Water on the worktop at the tap connection — The fill adapter, which is the joint improvised for each installation.
- Dirty water returning to the tub — Drain hose submerged or hanging below the machine, so it siphons back.
- One sector of the rack still dirty — A blocked jet on the single spray arm.

- Wrong detergent — First, and it is not close on a machine bought by first-time dishwasher owners. Hand dish soap is designed to foam and dishwasher detergent is designed not to; a teaspoon of the wrong one fills a small tub with suds that escape the door, trip the anti-flood float and coat everything inside. Nothing is broken and the machine needs rinsing out rather than repairing.
- Fill arrangement at the tap — Second. The adapter has to seat on a tap it was not made for, and it leaks, works loose, or fills too slowly for the cycle to proceed.
- Drain hose position — Third. The hose must discharge above the water line in the sink; below it, the machine siphons back what it just pumped out.
- Filter and spray-arm blockage — Fourth. A single arm and a small filter mean any blockage removes a visible chunk of the wash rather than degrading it evenly.
- Pump, heater and control faults — Last. On a machine this simple genuine failures are uncommon, and they are diagnosed correctly only after the detergent question is settled.
Which of these an owner can fix
Using dishwasher detergent, rinsing out a foamed machine with repeated short cycles, re-fitting the tap adapter, hanging the drain hose correctly and cleaning the filter and spray arm cover nearly everything on this list. Water in the base pan is owner-detectable but its source may not be. Call a technician when the machine will not run with a clean base and a good fill, when there is a burning smell, or when protection trips with nothing else on the circuit.
