Before opening an Equator Advanced Appliances machine, empty it and run it for a minute. Noise that vanishes was an object in the drum or the load itself. Noise that stays has a cause in the drum support, the belt path or the blower, and the ranking below is ordered for what actually wears out on this format.
What you are seeing
- A rhythmic thump once per drum revolution — A flat-spotted roller or a belt with a set, and it grows slowly.
- A low rumble that worsens steadily over weeks — Drum support wear, which ends in a scraped drum if it is left.
- The machine rocks or walks on the floor — Feet and levelling, not a fault inside the cabinet.
- NEAR MISS: the ordinary thumping of a heavy wet load tumbling — Loads hitting the drum are normal.
Ranked causes on this platform
- Drum rollers, glides or bearings worn — The leading cause here: rollers carry the whole drum and wear flat, which produces the classic thump per revolution and a rumble that grows over months. It is the most common mechanical noise on any tumble dryer.
- An object loose in the drum, the blower or the lint path — Second: it is the cheapest thing to find and the one that gets worse the longer the machine runs with it.
- Blower wheel cracked or loose on its shaft — Less often, third: a cracked wheel rattles and slips, which is noisy and quietly costs drying performance at the same time.
What to test first, second, third
- Turn the empty drum slowly by hand and listen — Roughness, a catch once per turn, or a groan all point at the drum supports.
- Run the machine empty for a minute and listen for rattles — A rattle that tracks the blower rather than the drum is an object in the housing.
- Note whether drying has also got worse — Noise plus slow drying points at the blower rather than at the drum.
Hands-on checks an owner can make
- Check pockets and the drum seal lip for coins and wires — Run a finger round the seal gap with the power off.
Tools: torchAbout 10 min
- Turn the empty drum slowly by hand, listening — Roughness or a catch once per turn points at rollers or bearings.
About 10 min
- Look for grey marking on light-coloured clothes — Marking plus scraping means a worn seal and a dropped drum.
About 5 min
- STOP HERE for anything inside the cabinet — Rollers, belts, seals and blower wheels all need the machine opened, the drum out on many platforms, and the supply isolated.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Lint is fuel: clear the filter every load and the duct regularly, because a restricted dryer runs hotter than it was designed to and that is how dryer fires start. If this is a gas machine and you smell gas, do not switch anything on or off, leave the building, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. allowlist:unplug-before-service
When to call a technician
Roller and belt kits are ordinary dryer maintenance and usually worth doing. Ask for the noise to be identified before the order, because on a compact platform Parts are ordered from the brand rather than a high-street counter, and combo-specific components have no mainstream equivalent.

Scope of this page
Scope: the Equator Advanced Appliances machine as a type, diagnosed with the power off and the cabinet closed. It is not the service sheet for your build, and it lists no per-model codes, capacities or part numbers. Anything needing the rating plate in hand belongs on a named-model page, linked here when one exists.
