What this usually means
Cold washing on an Engindot unit shows up as poor results on greasy loads and detergent that never dissolves. Because this badge sells online with no dealer network behind it, the install side of the list is the place to begin: hoses on the wrong valves is one of the commonest faults in a laundry and costs nothing to correct.
What owners actually observe
- Powder or liquid detergent residue left in the drawer or the drum — Detergent needs warm water to disperse, so the drawer reports the temperature.
- Greasy collars and cuffs surviving a hot wash setting — Fats need heat; cold water leaves them behind whatever the programme says.
- Clothes come out hot on one programme and cold on another — That points at a mixing valve or a programme setting rather than a dead heater.
- NEAR MISS: only the first load of the day is cold — That is the house hot water arriving late down a long pipe run rather than anything inside the machine.
Ranked causes on this platform
- Hot supply closed, slow, or the hoses swapped at the valves — The leading cause here: hoses reversed at install put cold into the hot inlet, and the machine then mixes exactly as instructed and washes cold for years.
- Inlet screens blocked on the hot side — Second most likely here: screens are cheap, reachable with the valves closed, and they are the most overlooked restriction in a laundry.
- Board not calling for heat — Third in order: a board that never energises the heat circuit produces the same cold wash as a dead element and is told apart only at the terminals.
Where to start, and what follows
- Run the laundry hot tap, then check which hose is on which valve — Feel both hoses during fill: the hot one should warm in your hand within a minute.
- Close the valves and inspect both inlet screens — A furred hot-side screen is a complete explanation and an owner-level fix.
- Leave the switching test to a technician — This is a live measurement at a relay in a wet machine.
Hands-on checks an owner can make
- Check the programme actually selects a hot wash — Eco and quick settings cap temperature on many platforms.
About 5 min
- Feel the door glass immediately after a hot cycle ends — Warm glass means heat happened, whatever the clothes suggest.
About 5 min
- Run a maintenance wash at the highest temperature the machine offers — Also clears the grease film that makes cold washing look worse.
Tools: machine cleanerAbout 90 min
- STOP HERE before testing an element, a sensor or a valve electrically — Those are live measurements next to standing water, and they are where the owner side ends.

Safety
Power off at the breaker before anything comes apart. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel, because a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. allowlist:unplug-before-service
When to call a technician
Call when the hot tap runs hot, the hoses are on the right valves, the screens are clear and the programme genuinely selects a hot wash, and the drum is still cold. What is left is a mixing valve, an element where one exists, a sensor or the board, all measured.

Scope of this page
Read this as generalized information about an Engindot unit. The badge covers more than one contract-built chassis, and they are neither plumbed nor wired identically, so nothing here is presented as a model procedure.
