What you are seeing
- The code appears at the same point in every cycle — That timing names the subsystem more reliably than the code itself.
- The code clears on a power cut and returns within a cycle — The underlying condition is still there; only the message was cleared.
- All indicators flash together — Usually a self-test or a hard fault state rather than a lookup code.
- NEAR MISS: a code that names drainage while the drum holds water — That is an honest report of a drain restriction. Clear the filter and the hose, and the code becomes unnecessary.
The ranking that matters
- A latched fault the board is still holding — Most likely on this platform: boards hold a fault after the condition has passed, so the machine looks broken when the event is already over.
- Control lock, child lock or demo mode — Next in order: hidden long-press functions exist on nearly every panel, and documentation for this badge is rarely to hand when it matters.
- Touch membrane or display hardware failed — Third in order: a genuinely dead membrane is less common than everything above it and cannot be confirmed until those are eliminated.
Where to start, and what follows
- Power down fully for a few minutes, then run a short cycle — A code that returns during that cycle is live; one that does not was latched.
- Look for a lock or key symbol and long-press the lock key — Buttons that come back prove the panel was never faulty.
- Leave the verdict to a technician with the fascia off — Membrane faults are confirmed behind the panel, not from the laundry floor.
