An Elisii appliance that does nothing is usually a door switch, a supply problem or, on many platforms, a thermal fuse that has opened because the duct was blocked. Because documentation for this badge is thin and the install is rarely checked, check the door and the breaker first, then ask whether the machine had been running hot. A dryer that died shortly after a slow-drying spell is telling you something specific.
What you are seeing
- The breaker or one side of it is off — Large dryers use a double breaker, and one side can open alone.
- The machine stopped working right after a very long, poor drying cycle — Strongly suggests a thermal device that opened on an overheated, restricted machine.
- It starts only when the door is pushed or held — The door switch, and it is mechanical.
- It hums when start is held and stops when released — A start switch or a motor that cannot get going.
- NEAR MISS: it only fails when the washer is also running — That points at the circuit rather than the machine, and it is an electrician question.
What is usually behind it, in order
- Door switch not making, or the door not closing square — Most likely on this platform: the machine is designed to refuse with the door open, and the switch takes every close, so a worn plunger or a dropped door imitates a dead machine exactly. Most no-start complaints end here or at the breaker.
- Timer, board or start relay failed — Second: it is over-diagnosed because it is the plausible answer when nothing obvious is wrong. Spares are ordered from the importer instead of picked up the same day, which is the real argument for proving the cause before buying anything.
- No power, or half the supply missing — Third in order: a dryer outlet sits behind the machine and is rarely inspected, and a large dryer on a double-pole breaker can lose one side while appearing live.
Check in this order
- Close the door firmly and listen for the switch click — A machine that starts under hand pressure has a switch or an alignment fault and nothing more.
- Record the exact behaviour instead of guessing — Dark, lit-and-silent, or hums-and-stops are three different faults.
- Check the breaker fully, and prove a standard outlet with a lamp — Reset a tripped breaker once.
