The short answer
Try a full power-off reset, then look for a control lock, then confirm the door is properly latched. If the panel is unresponsive after all three, or the display shows nothing at all, the fault is the board or its supply and that is an internal repair.
What the panel does
- Buttons beep but nothing starts — Control lock, or a door that is not latched.
- Display blank with the machine plugged in — A supply or board fault.
- Display lit but frozen on one screen — The controller has hung; a power-off reset often clears it.
- A code appears and the cycle stops — The machine has detected something and stopped deliberately.
- Some programs work, others will not start — More likely a sensing or heating fault than the panel.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. The console carries mains terminals on a dryer, and the cabinet behind it holds lint and a heat source. Never run a machine with the console open, and never hold a door switch closed to test a program.
When to call
Call when a reset, the lock check and the door check all fail, or when the display is dead with the machine plugged in. Quote the code and the exact behaviour: a code that names a sensor is usually a cheap repair, whereas a dead board on a compact dryer may cost enough to change the decision about the machine.
