The short version
A leaking ecozy dishwasher is most often leaking at the door or from too much detergent rather than from a failed pump seal, and both of those are owner work. Put a sheet of paper under the machine before you do anything else: where it gets wet is half the diagnosis.
The symptoms, including the ones that mean something else
- The whole unit is affected at once rather than one part of it — A compact machine has one small circuit, so nothing here fails by halves.
- Water only on certain cycles — A longer or hotter cycle drives leaks the short one does not.
- NEAR MISS: water is only ever on the door when you open it mid-cycle — Condensation running off the inside of a hot door is normal.
Causes in order of likelihood on this brand
- The door gasket, or a door not closing square — The gasket runs around the tub opening and it takes a set with age, hardens with heat, and collects debris in its channel. Ranked first on an ecozy dishwasher: a small door on a light magnetic seal is easy to leave not-quite-shut, and a cabinet this size cannot absorb it.
- Inlet or drain connections at the back — The inlet fitting is under mains pressure whenever the tap is open, and a drain hose clamp that has relaxed weeps every time the pump runs. Ranked second on an ecozy dishwasher: these are routinely pushed under a counter or built into a cabinet, and the clearance the manufacturer asks for is rarely there.
- Too much detergent, or the wrong sort — Hand washing-up liquid in a dishwasher produces foam that walks straight out of the door, and an overdose of machine detergent in soft water does the same thing. The order to work in, and the reason for it
- Run a finger around the gasket for hard, flattened or dirty sections — Leaking at the front with a dry back is this cause.
- Pull the machine out carefully and dry every fitting, then run a cycle and look again — Wet at the back with a dry door is a connection.
- Look at whether what is coming out is foam rather than water — Foam is always dosing and never a failed part.

- Wash the gasket and its channel, then check the door closes evenly at both sides — A door that has dropped seals at the top and gaps at the bottom.

Switch off the breaker before removing the lower panel or the door skin: the heating element and the junction box are both live under the machine, and there is standing water in the sump. Never defeat the door latch to watch a cycle run. Let a hot machine cool before you reach into it.
When to call a technician
Call when the door seals cleanly, the detergent is right, the machine is level and the connections are dry, because what remains is under the tub. Call immediately if the machine overfills or if water is reaching an outlet or a cabinet base, because water under a kitchen unit does expensive damage before anyone sees it.
