What the EM family is
An EM microwave is one platform sold under several model codes, and its faults divide sharply into the ones an owner can act on and the ones that live behind a cabinet covering a charged capacitor. Door and latch wear dominates by a wide margin, and a cold cavity — an oven that runs without heating — is the fault that usually ends the machine.
What goes wrong

Owner work, and what is not
