The short answer
A Contoure dryer that ends its cycle with a damp load is usually misjudging dryness or short of airflow rather than short of heat. On this class the usual cause is a condenser or tank needing attention on a ventless machine, with a drum packed too full to tumble next to rule out, and both are owner checks.
What you actually observe
- The drum is warm and the clothes stay damp — Heat is present and the moisture has nowhere to go.
- The load is hot outside and wet in the middle — Air is reaching part of the load and not the rest.

The causes, most likely first on this brand
- A condenser or tank needing attention on a ventless machine — Ranked first on a Contoure unit: a coach machine condenses its moisture rather than venting it, so a blocked condenser or a full tank stops the drying while everything else looks normal.
- A drum packed too full to tumble — Air only dries what it can reach, so a packed drum returns a load that is hot outside and wet in the middle however long the cycle runs. Ranked second here: a small coach drum holds far less than owners expect.
- A supply that sags part way through the cycle — Ranked third here: an inverter sagging at the heaviest stage halts the cycle rather than completing it.

Check in this order, and why this order
- Check the condenser filter and whether the tank or the drain is clear — A full tank stops most of these machines and says so quietly if at all.
- Look at how full the drum is and whether the load tumbles freely — A drum about half full when loaded is the usual guidance and most people exceed it.
- Note whether the stall happens at the same stage and what else was drawing — Stalls that cluster at the heaviest stage are a supply story.

- Empty the tank, rinse the condenser filter and check the drain hose is not kinked — On a ventless machine this is routine maintenance rather than a repair.

Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker before any panel comes off or a duct is disturbed. If you smell gas, do not switch anything on or off, leave the building, and call the gas utility or your emergency number from outside. Lint is the fuel in almost every dryer fire, so a restricted duct is urgent rather than an inconvenience, and a dryer must never be run with its vent discharging into the room.
When to call a technician
Call once the sensing, the duct, the load and the cycle are all clean and the results are still poor, because a thermistor or a control fault needs a meter and panels off. Call sooner if the cabinet is unusually hot or there is a smell of hot lint, since that is a fire risk rather than a performance problem. Bear in mind when you decide that an RV appliance is serviced by RV dealers rather than by household appliance technicians, and the warranty usually runs through the dealer who sold the coach.
