Straight answer first
On the Commercial Care MAR platform, water on the floor comes from four places, and when it appears narrows it to one before you touch anything. On these models the door or lid seal sits where an overfilled drum can push water at it, which matters on the wash stage. Most of what follows is owner work, and the parts that are not are named as such.
What you actually observe
- Water tracking from the lower front corner — The filter cap sits behind that flap, and a cap that is not fully closed leaks exactly there.
- Water while the drum turns — Wash-stage water points at the middle of the machine.
- Leaking on long cycles only — Programme-specific leaks usually mean water level or temperature, which points at the seal or the dispenser.
- It began after the filter was cleaned — Check the hose is not trapped behind the machine.
- NEAR MISS — water stays in rather than coming out — Deal with the blockage first — the drain page covers it.
Ranked causes for these models
- The gasket trapping fibre — On these models the seal is where an overfilled drum throws water, so loading habits matter as much as wear.
- Too much detergent making suds that escape — It belongs high on compact machines because a standard dose is too much here.
- A hardened washer at the tap — Top of the list and the cheapest to fix: a washer costs almost nothing.
- The drain filter cover left loose — Grit trapped on the seal face holds it open by a fraction under pump pressure.
The order to work in
- Inspect the seal all the way round — Test with a full-level programme — low water levels hide this.
- Time the leak against the cycle — Fill, wash and drain belong to different parts, so note the moment rather than the puddle.
- Dry both supply hoses and check every joint — Do it during the fill step — that is the only time the supply side is pressurised.
- Check the cap seating and its O-ring — Wipe the seal face and the housing — grit is enough to hold it open.
- Run a rinse with no detergent at all — If the leak disappears without detergent, the fix is the dose.
What to do before the panel comes off
Safety
Never stand in water while reaching behind a live machine. Shut the taps off before touching a fitting: these are under mains pressure whenever the taps are open. Check the cord is not trapped when you push it back.
