What this means on these models
Most noise complaints on a Comfee CERS refrigerator are vibration finding something to rattle, not a failing part. The compressor sits close to the cabinet skin, and anything touching that skin becomes a loudspeaker for it. Knowing the normal sounds saves a service call, because several of them arrived with the machine.
What the owner sees and hears
- The noise started after the cabinet was moved — That timing names the cause: something was displaced, unlevelled or pushed against the cabinet.
- A ticking against something from inside the compartment — Scraping is mechanical contact — it will not cure itself.
- Something loose at the rear — Press a hand on the rear panel while it runs — a change names the culprit.
- A hard click every few minutes, then silence — Note the interval — a few minutes between clicks is the classic pattern.
- A whirring or whining sound from inside the cold compartment — Fan noise that has grown louder points at a worn bearing or ice contact.
- NEAR MISS — loud and warm at the same time — Noise with a warm cabinet is a different page; the sound is a clue in that investigation.
What it usually turns out to be, in order
- Feet not all bearing — It ranks first also because it causes other faults: a rocking cabinet holds its door off the seal as well as making noise.
- Drip tray loose or out of position — Most often found on cabinets that have been transported.
- Refrigerant lines vibrating against something — Never force a tube: clearance is created carefully or not at all.
- Fan blade fouling — Ranked below the free checks because confirming it means taking a panel off even though it is a real fault.
- Start components cutting out — Ranked bottom on frequency, but it is the only cause here that can end the machine, so the clicking pattern is worth naming.
What to check first, second, third
- Rock each corner and set the feet — First because it is free and it fixes the commonest complaint.
- Check the condensate pan sits square on its rails — A warped tray needs replacing rather than reseating.
- Look for a blade touching a shroud — A rhythmic scrape once per revolution is something catching, not a bearing.
- Move everything off and away from the cabinet — Include the neighbouring appliance: contact with another unit counts.
- Press a hand on the rear panel while it runs — Do it with the machine running, since the noise is the test.
Before you open anything

Pull the plug first, even for what looks like a simple reseat: the machine can cycle at any moment. Do not bend or lever refrigerant tubing to gain clearance: a nicked line ends the machine. A blade that stopped can start again the moment the control calls, so treat a stopped fan as live.
