The short answer
On the Comfee CERR platform, water on the floor means the defrost drain first and plumbing only after that. The whole drain path here is short and narrow, which is why it blocks so readily. Work from the puddle back along the path rather than opening panels at random.
What you actually observe
- Moisture beading on the liner — Sweating around the frame means the seal is passing, and the water it makes has to go somewhere.
- Ice across the base — Clear the ice and the drain together, or it comes straight back.
- A puddle on the floor at the front — Water at the front usually arrived inside and ran out, which points at the drain rather than at plumbing.
- Wet floor only at the back — Water at the back is the tray or the supply line and should be traced with the unit pulled out.
- NEAR MISS — nothing is cooling — A warm cabinet with water in it is a cooling fault first: the puddle is melted ice.
Ranked causes for these models
- Defrost drain plugged — It ranks top because the failure is slow, silent and certain — a year of food film closes a hole this size.
- A cracked mould or fill cup — Where there is no ice maker, this cause does not exist — check for a fill tube before considering it.
- Plumbing leak at the inlet valve — Where a line exists it ranks here because the joints are the part most often damaged during cleaning.
- Condensate missing the pan — Mid-list: the tray is brittle after years over a warm compressor, and a cabinet that has been moved often arrives with it displaced.
The order to work in
- Lift the drawers out and look at the drain channel — Do not force anything down it: the tube behind is thin.
- Check the pan over the compressor — Only needed once the inside checks are clean, because this explains water at the back.
- Check the cabinet is level and sitting square — Rock each corner — a cabinet that moves is not level.
- Test the door seal with a paper strip — A seal that lets humid air in makes more water than the drain can carry.

If you find a supply-line leak, close the tap before touching the joint and check the joint again afterwards. Get help moving it rather than walking it on a wet floor. Unplug the refrigerator or switch off its breaker before removing any panel; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off.

A drain that blocks again within weeks means something upstream is wrong, and that needs testing under power. Do not leave a plumbed cabinet leaking overnight: close the valve and call.
