Straight answer first
When a Comfee CERR refrigerator gets loud, sort the normal sounds from the abnormal ones before deciding anything is wrong. A compact unit cannot soak up what its compressor produces, which is why placement matters so much here. The steps below place the sound first and only then ask whether the part making it is faulty.
What the owner sees and hears
- A rhythmic scrape in time with the fan — A fan blade touching ice or a shroud produces a rhythmic scrape, and it gets worse as the ice grows.
- Clicking with no compressor start — Note the interval — a few minutes between clicks is the classic pattern.
- Ticking as the cabinet cools or warms — Brief and irregular sounds are almost always thermal.
