The answer first
On a condenser or heat-pump dryer, the condensate has to be collected and removed. On a Care dryer a drainage complaint means the tank, the pump or the drain hose. That puts a tank not seated on its switch at the top of the list here and a blocked condenser or lint filter at the bottom.
What you observe
- The tank-full warning comes on every cycle — The condensate is collecting but not being pumped away.
- The cycle stops early and asks for the tank to be emptied — Protective behaviour rather than a failure.
- The tank fills far faster than usual — Normal for very wet loads; abnormal if it has changed suddenly.
- NEAR MISS — the machine will not start at all — That is the no-start page.
Causes, most likely first on this unit
- A tank not seated on its switch — The machine detects the tank position. Pushed in crooked, it reports full even when empty. The pump and the drain path are the parts that meet everything that comes off the laundry, so they are the parts that block.
- A blocked condensate pump or filter — Lint reaches the pump chamber and stops it moving water, so the tray fills and the machine stops. It sits in the middle: likely enough to matter, and cheap enough to be worth proving before the expensive candidates.
- A drain hose kinked, raised or blocked — The pump has a limited lift, and a hose above that height simply will not clear. Drainage is where water that the machine made on purpose goes wrong, so it leads whenever water is the complaint.
- A blocked condenser or lint filter — Less airflow means poorer condensation and a machine that behaves oddly at every stage.
The order of checks
- Empty the tank and reseat it deliberately — Push it fully home and listen for it to seat.
- Look in the tray or pump area for lint — A wet lint plug is the most common single finding.
- Follow the drain hose if the machine is plumbed — Kinks and rises are the usual reasons the pump cannot clear it.
- Clean the condenser unit and the filters — A restricted condenser changes everything downstream of it.
Step by step, as far as it is safe to go
- Straighten the drain hose and lower it within the pump lift — It must run without a rise above the height the manual states.
- Level the machine and lock the feet — The tray needs to drain toward the pump.
Tools: spanner, spirit level
- STOP before removing the pump or the condensate tray — Mains wiring and a heat exchanger inside the cabinet.
Power, panels and what not to do
Safety
Do not run a machine whose condensate tray is overflowing inside the cabinet. Unplug it, clear the cause, and dry everything before restoring power.
When to call a technician
Call when the tank seats properly, the condenser is clean, the hose runs correctly and the warning still appears — the pump, the tray and the level switch are inside the cabinet. Call sooner if water is escaping from the cabinet.

What is deliberately not here
What this page does not cover: model-specific figures, part numbers and service sequences for any single Care family — it describes how an import dryer behaves as a class. Where a more specific page exists for your unit it is linked below and should be read first.
