The short answer
If the display is dark, the fault is in the supply above the cabinetry rather than in the oven. If it lights and will not start, close the door firmly, clear any child lock, and check nothing on the latch face is holding the door off. An internal fault is last and is never an owner repair.

Causes, most likely first on this brand
- A door that is not fully closed or latched — First when the display is lit. The interlocks are a safety chain, and a greasy latch face above a cooktop is a frequent and invisible culprit.
- No power at the outlet — First when the display is dark. The outlet is usually in the cabinet above the unit, so a tripped breaker or a loose plug is not visible from the kitchen.
- A child lock or demonstration mode set — Third, and free to rule out. Both leave a lit but unresponsive oven and both clear from the panel.
- A worn latch or a sagging door — Fourth. On an over-range unit the door is heavy and used constantly, so a latch that barely confirms is a warning rather than a workaround.
- An internal fuse, interlock or control fault — Last, and behind the case. Not an owner check at any skill level, because of the stored high-voltage charge.

Safety
A microwave oven contains a high-voltage capacitor that can hold a lethal charge long after the oven is unplugged, so the case must never be opened by an owner - not to check an internal fuse. Never tape, wedge or defeat a door interlock. Do not run the oven empty. Never stand on a cooktop to reach the unit, and do not remove an over-range oven single-handed, because they are heavy and awkward overhead.
When to call a technician
Call, with the circuit isolated, when the breaker is on and the display is still dark, or when the display lights and the oven refuses with a clean latch face, a firmly closed door and no lock set. Call without further testing if it trips the breaker or you smell hot insulation. Mention that it is an over-range unit, because removal is a two-person job.
