A a Bull refrigerator that shows nothing at all is a power problem far more often than an appliance problem. The order below reflects that: the supply is checked before anything inside the cabinet. That puts no power at the outlet at the top of the list here and damage or disconnection from moving the cabinet at the bottom.
Symptoms, including the ones that mean something else
- It worked until the cabinet was moved — Moving loosens plugs, kinks cords and trips protective devices.
- It runs for a few minutes after being plugged in, then stops — A protective cut-out, or a control that is not seeing what it expects.

What causes this, in order of likelihood here
- No power at the outlet — A tripped breaker, a tripped GFCI upstream, a switched outlet turned off or an outlet on a circuit that failed silently. Supply is proved before anything is condemned, because a dead outlet and a dead appliance look identical.
- A tripped GFCI or a switched outlet — Garage and basement outlets are commonly protected or switched, and the reset may be in another room entirely. It sits here because an electrical cause is both the cheapest to rule out and the one with real safety weight.
- An extension lead or a shared circuit — Refrigeration draws a hard surge to start. Ranked high here because the cut-out is permanent — a tight or unvented island follows the appliance for its entire life.
- Damage or disconnection from moving the cabinet — A plug pulled half out or a cord crushed against a wall is the most common post-delivery fault.
What to check first, second, third
- Reset the breaker and any GFCI on that circuit — A GFCI in a garage or outdoors often feeds the outlet without anyone remembering it is there.
- Look at the whole cord from plug to cabinet — Run it through your fingers. Crushing, melting or a warm plug is the finding, and it ends the diagnosis.
- Hold the control panel buttons that unlock it — If the unit has a display, a lock or demo mode is cleared from the panel and costs nothing to rule out.
The owner-side procedure
- Move the cabinet out and inspect the cord along its whole length — Crushing behind the unit is the usual damage and it is not visible from the front.

- STOP before opening the compressor compartment — Testing a relay or an overload means working at the compressor terminals. That is a technician job.
