The short answer

- Inlet restricted so the machine fills short — Less water means less spray pressure, and the machine will still complete a cycle with a poor result.
- Spray-arm jets blocked — Second: individual jets block with seeds, labels and scale, and the result is a repeatable dead spot rather than a general decline.
Check in this order, and why
- Reload with nothing tall in the lower rack and rerun — It tests the commonest cause without any tools and gives an unambiguous answer in one cycle.
- Turn both spray arms by hand and check every jet — A jet you can clear with a pin is the difference between a clean rack and a dirty one.
- Take the filter out and wash it properly — It is the first thing in the recirculation path and the place the evidence of the fault collects.
- Watch a fill and listen for the spray hitting the door — Weak or absent spray noise means pressure or coverage, and it separates those from a detergent problem.
Before any panel comes off
Safety
Disconnect power before the kick panel comes off. The heating element at the base of the tub stays hot for a long time after a cycle and it is the first thing your hand meets.
