The short answer

- Cabinet not level or resting against something — Why here: first because it is free, it is common, and vibration transmitted into a wall or a neighbouring cabinet is heard as a fault in the appliance — Confirmed by: the noise changes when a hand is put on the cabinet, or the unit rocks under a push
- Loose drain pan, cover panel or tubing — Why here: a rattle with no mechanical consequence, which is why it ranks above component failure — it is a nuisance rather than a fault — Confirmed by: the buzz can be stopped by pressing on a panel or the pan
