The short answer
On a countertop BodegaCooler a puddle is usually condensate that missed its channel because the cabinet is not level, or a drain hole blocked with dust. The unit has no plumbing, so nothing can be leaking from a supply. Water on the worktop is almost always a levelling or a humidity problem.

- A cabinet that is not level — First on a countertop unit. Worktops slope, feet compress unevenly, and a cabinet leaning forward sends its condensate to the front of the interior and out under the door instead of into the channel.
- A blocked drain hole — Second. The hole is small and dust, crumbs and spilled drink close it quickly, after which the water simply collects inside.
- A door that does not seal or self-close — Third, and the multiplier behind both. More humid air in means more condensate than a system this small can move.
- A tray or drip point that has been displaced — Fourth. Small trays clip on and come adrift when the unit is moved or cleaned, and the water then falls straight onto the worktop.
- A cracked liner or a failed plate seal — Last, and rare. On a unit this size it is a replacement decision rather than a repair.
Check in this order, and why
- Check the cabinet is level, front to back and side to side — The likeliest cause, and free to correct.
- Look for the drain hole at the base of the cold plate — Dust or ice in it is the answer.
- Watch the door close from half open — A door standing open feeds every cause here.
- Look behind for a tray or drip point that has come adrift — Visible in a moment once the unit is pulled forward.

Safety
Unplug the cooler before cleaning inside it or moving it - a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and water on a worktop beside a live appliance deserves respect. Never clear a drain hole with wire; the cold plate behind it punctures easily and that ends the unit. Keep the socket and any adapter well away from where the water collects, and dry the worktop properly, because a damp ring under a cooler will mark and swell a laminate surface.
When to call a technician
Call, or plan a replacement, when the cabinet is level, the drain is clear, the door seals and water still appears. On a countertop cooler a liner or plate fault costs more to put right than the unit is worth, so ask for the part price before committing. Deal with it quickly all the same, because standing water on a worktop damages the surface long before it damages the appliance.
