The short answer
On a countertop BodegaCooler the first question is the room, not the machine: a unit without a compressor cannot beat a warm room. Blocked vents come second, the power supply third. A genuine module or compressor failure is last, and on a cabinet this size it usually means replacement.

- Blocked or crowded vents — Second. Pushed against a wall, a splashback or a stack of papers, the unit recirculates its own exhaust and loses whatever margin it had.
- A failing or wrong power adapter — Third, and specific to this class. Many of these units run from an external adapter, and a substituted or failing adapter leaves the module underpowered and the fan running normally.
- A door that does not seal — Fourth. The doors on small cabinets are light, and a gasket that has taken a knock lets warm air in continuously.
- A failed cooling module or compressor — Last. Real, and the end of the road on a unit this size, because the part and the labour usually approach the price of a replacement.
Check in this order, and why
- Note the room temperature and where the unit stands — The likeliest explanation, and free to establish.
- Pull it well clear of walls and anything stacked around it — Then give it a few hours and re-check.
- Feel the rear vent for warm moving air — Warm air means it is working; still air means the fan is not.
- Check the adapter is the one supplied and is not hot — A substituted adapter is a common and quiet cause.

- Move the unit off a warm or sunlit surface — Away from ovens, radiators, windows and the top of other appliances.

Never use a substitute adapter that is not the one specified for the unit; the wrong output can overheat the module. Keep the vents clear of walls, curtains and paper at all times, because a cooler that cannot reject its heat gets hot enough to be a fire risk rather than merely an ineffective fridge.
When to call a technician
Call, or plan a replacement, when the room is cool, the vents are clear, the adapter is correct and the unit still will not get cold. On a countertop cooler the diagnosis is usually simple and the economics are the real question, so ask for the part price before committing to a repair. Unplug it and call immediately if the case smells hot or is too hot to touch.
