The short answer
On a Bodega undercounter cooler, frost and frozen drinks are usually the thermostat setting or a door that is not sealing. A cabinet opened often in a humid kitchen frosts at the back whatever the setting. Nothing here starts with the sealed system, and none of it means the unit is failing.

- NEAR MISS - a light dusting after a busy evening — Normal after repeated door openings, and it clears itself.
Causes, most likely first on this brand
- A thermostat set colder than the contents need — First, and the simplest. Beverage cabinets are often set at the coldest mark on delivery, and glass bottles against a cold rear wall will freeze at settings that leave cans merely cold.
- A door that is not sealing or not closing itself — Second. A fouled seal channel, a spill dried into the gasket, or a hinge that has dropped all let a continuous ribbon of humid air into a very small cabinet.
- Frequent door opening in a humid room — Third, and often simply the truth of how the cabinet is used. Every opening exchanges the cabinet's dry air for room air, and the moisture in it lands on the rear wall.
- Contents pressed against the rear wall — Fourth. Anything touching the cold plate freezes first, and a bottle held there overnight will freeze at a setting nothing else minds.
- A thermostat or sensor reading wrongly — Last. Real, but the four causes above explain the great majority of frost complaints on this kind of cabinet.

- Note the setting and move it one step warmer — The cheapest test, and often the whole answer.
- Check whether the door closes itself from half open — A door that stands proud explains persistent frost.
- Look at what is touching the rear wall — Contact freezing looks like a fault and is not.
- Wipe the frost away and see how fast it returns — Days means air is entering; weeks is normal service.

Do not use a heat gun or hair dryer to speed a defrost; warm room air and an open door are enough.
When to call a technician
Call when the setting has been raised, the seal is clean and closing, nothing touches the rear wall and frost still returns within days. That pattern points at a sensor or control rather than at use, and it needs the unit run with a meter. Call as well if drinks freeze at the warmest available setting, because that is a control that is no longer regulating.
