The short answer
A BlitzHome countertop dishwasher that leaves dishes dirty is most often working with too little water or a blocked spray arm. Fill the tank to its mark, make sure nothing stops the arm turning, and load so that no tall item shadows the rest. Detergent and heating come after those.
What you observe
- Grit left on the lower items — The arm is not reaching them, or the filter is recirculating debris.
- Clean at the front and dirty at the back — A tall item is shadowing the rear of the small tub.
- A short or interrupted cycle with everything wet — The tank ran out part-way through.
- NEAR MISS — a white film on glassware — That is water hardness rather than a cleaning fault.
Causes, most likely first on this brand
- An under-filled tank — First on a tank-fed machine and unique to it: the cycle has exactly the water you poured in, so filling below the mark shortens the wash before anything else has a chance to work.
- A spray arm blocked or stopped — Second: with one arm and a small tub, a single item over the arm removes coverage from an entire half of the load.
- A loaded filter recirculating debris — Third. The filter is small, it fills quickly without a pre-rinse, and after that the machine washes with the same soil it just removed.
- Detergent or heating — Last. Too much detergent foams and cushions the spray, and a weak heater leaves grease unmoved, but neither matters while the water or the arm is short.
Check in this order, and why
- Check the tank was filled to its mark — On this platform it is the first thing to eliminate every time.
- Spin the spray arm by hand — It should turn freely through a full revolution with the rack loaded.
- Pull and inspect the filter — A loaded filter explains grit on otherwise clean items.
- Only then look at detergent and water temperature — These matter, but they are downstream of water and coverage.

Unplug the dishwasher before reaching into the sump or removing the filter — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Let the tub cool after a hot cycle before putting your hands in. Never fill the tank while the machine is running, and keep the mains lead and the outlet clear of the worktop water this machine inevitably spills.
When to call a technician
Call, or weigh a replacement, when the tank is filled to its mark, the arm turns freely, the filter is clean, the load is reasonable and dishes still come out dirty. From there the suspects are the pump, the heater and the control, all of which need the cabinet opened on an appliance that is not expensive to replace.
