The short answer
On BH models the leading leak causes are the door seal and its latch, the inlet fitting, and the drain connection - the parts that are handled or that carry pressure. The tub itself is the least likely cause and the most expensive one.
What you observe
- A slow puddle with the machine switched off — A fitting weeping under standing pressure. It is the only pattern that continues with the machine dead.
- Water at the front, under the door — The door seal, the latch or the loading. Nothing behind the machine is involved.
- Water appears only while the machine empties — The drain hose, its connection or the waste backing up.
- Water runs down the inside of the door when it is opened — Normal condensate if it is a small amount at the end of a cycle; a seal problem if it is running during the wash.
Causes, most likely first
- The door seal, or a door that is not latching square — First on this family. The seal runs the whole way round a door that is opened and loaded constantly, and a strand of debris on it, or a latch that has drifted, puts water on the floor at the front on every wash.
- Loading that redirects the spray at the door — Second, and the one owners least expect. A tall tray or a pan set against the door turns the spray straight at the seal, and the same machine leaks on one load and not the next.
- The drain hose or its connection at the waste — A clamp that has loosened or a hose that has been crushed behind the machine leaks only while the pump runs, which is a clean diagnostic split.
- Excess detergent, or the wrong product entirely — Suds climb past seals that water never reaches. Anything that is not dishwasher detergent will do this on the first cycle it is used.
Check in this order
- Dry everything, put paper at the front and back, and run a cycle — Front and back are two different faults.
- Rerun with the correct dose of dishwasher detergent only — Last of the free checks, and it removes foam from the list entirely.
- Watch the drain connection while the machine empties — Only the drain step pressurises it, so it has to be watched at the right moment.
- Dry the inlet fitting and watch it with the tap open and the machine off — A weep under standing pressure shows within minutes and needs no cycle at all.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Shut the supply tap before disturbing any inlet fitting, and expect the hose to hold pressure after the machine is dead.

When to call
Call when the seal is clean and undamaged, the door latches square, the load is clear of it, the inlet is dry under pressure and the drain connection is sound - and water still appears. At that point the leak is inside, which means the sump, an internal hose or the tub.
