The short answer for these models
Most mid-cycle stops are the machine protecting itself: no water, no drain, or a load too unbalanced to spin. All three are owner-checkable and none of them means a failed part. A stop that moves around the cycle is the exception and points at the supply or the control. Where this departs from the brand-level page is the ranking. A tap-adapter installation gives up its pressure and its drain height the moment the adapter slips, so a fault that looks electrical on a plumbed machine is usually mechanical on a portable one, so on a BCW unit the supply and adapter checks lead.
What you observe
- Before the list: which of the BCW forms is in front of you — Check what the fill hose connects to. A tap adapter can slip or kink; a wall valve cannot, and that changes the first suspect.
- It stops at a different point every time — The stop lands somewhere different every time, which points away from any single function.
- The cycle time jumps up or stalls on the display — The clock climbs instead of falling, which is a machine extending a step while it waits.
- NEAR MISS — it completes but water is left in the tub — Read the drainage page. The cycle ran; the pump-out did not.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- The lid switch or door lock is intermittent — On the list because an intermittent lock explains a wandering stop better than anything else, and the machine stays alive throughout. The ranking moves here for a reason particular to these models: how the unit is built changes what this finding means. That is what puts the supply and adapter checks ahead of everything else on the list.
- The control, the timer or a sensor — Last because it is the diagnosis of exclusion and the only one here that needs a meter behind a panel.
What to check first, and why that order
- First — note exactly where it stops — Run one cycle and watch it. A stop you have timed is worth more than any guess. On these models this is the step the construction changes: the answer only tells you something once you know which form the unit is.
- Second — redistribute the load and restart on a spin — If a balanced drum spins happily, the machine was doing its job and there is nothing to repair.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not reach into a drum that has stopped unexpectedly until the machine is unplugged: a paused cycle can resume on its own once its condition is met. Shut the taps before disturbing any inlet connection.
Where the owner job ends
Book a visit once the supply, the drain, the filter and the load have all been checked and the cycle still stalls in the same place. Note exactly where it stops — at fill, at wash, at drain or at spin — because that is the single most useful thing a technician can be told.
