The short answer for these models
Almost all refrigerator water is water the machine made on purpose and then failed to get rid of. Defrost melt is supposed to run down a channel, through a drain and into a tray over the compressor, and a blockage anywhere along that path puts it on your floor instead. A genuine supply leak is rare and it looks different. Where this departs from the brand-level page is the ranking. A single-door cabinet shares one cold source between the chill box and the food space, so a fault in one shows up in the other and the symptom you notice is rarely where the fault is, so on a CCUN unit the compartment-by-compartment checks lead.
What you actually see
- How your CCUN unit is built — the check that comes before the list — Count the doors. Two compartments behind two doors behave independently; one door means a symptom can appear far from its cause.
- Ice building in the base of the compartment — A frozen puddle inside is a blocked drain caught earlier in the same story.
- Condensation running down the inside walls — Warm humid air is getting in, which points at the door seal rather than at the drain.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- The cabinet is not level, or the drain channel is not sloping — Common, invisible until you look, and corrected with a wrench at the front feet. It is placed first on the CCUN models rather than where the brand-level page puts it, because the form of the unit decides how much this can explain — which makes the compartment-by-compartment checks the checks with the most to say.
- The supply line, the fill valve or an internal joint — It comes last because it is the least likely and because a real supply leak is usually obvious the moment you look behind the cabinet.
Check in this order, and why
- First — find the drain hole and test it — Find the hole at the lowest point inside and pour a little warm water into it. Water that stands there rather than vanishing has answered the question. On these models this is the step the construction changes: the answer only tells you something once you know which form the unit is.
- Second — shut the door on a strip of paper — The paper test takes a minute and it separates a condensation problem from a drainage one.
- Third — check the cabinet is level and tipped very slightly back — A unit tipped forward will send its melt water over the sill no matter how clear the drain is.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Clear a frozen drain with warm water only: a wire or a screwdriver pushed into a drain hole reaches tubing that punctures. Mop as you go, because a wet floor in front of a heavy cabinet is how people get hurt moving it.
Where the owner job ends
Book the visit once the drain, the seal, the tray and the levelling are all clear and water keeps returning, because the rest of the path runs behind the lining. Call at once if water is reaching a socket or a neighbouring appliance — at that point it has stopped being a housekeeping problem.
