The short answer
A Bertazzoni freezer column that will not hold temperature is most often restricted at its ventilation grille or fighting the heat of a neighbouring oven, not failing internally. A door that no longer seals under a heavy front comes next, then a stalled defrost. The sealed system is last and is the only cause that is not owner work.
What you observe

Causes, most likely first on this brand
- A restricted ventilation grille or channel — First on a built-in column, and a fault that only exists because of the installation. With the airflow path blocked the condenser cannot reject heat, so the column runs continuously and still loses ground.
- Heat from a neighbouring appliance in the same stack — Second, and specific to this kind of kitchen: a wall oven running for an afternoon raises the temperature of the whole cabinet run, and the column has to work against it for hours afterwards.
- A door not sealing under a heavy front — Third. The front panel loads the hinges, they settle, and the gasket lifts at the top corner where nobody looks, admitting humid air continuously.
- A stalled defrost icing the evaporator — Fourth, and the one that produces a heavy frost sheet with a fan that ticks. It needs a technician once a full defrost stops curing it.

Before you open anything
Safety
Switch the column off at its breaker before removing the grille or any interior panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never chip, scrape or heat ice off the evaporator: the tubing behind it is thin-walled and a puncture is unrepairable. A built-in column must not be drawn out of its opening by one person; it is tall, heavy and front-loaded.
When to call a technician
Call when the grille and channel are clear, the door seals all the way round, a full defrost has been tried, and the column still will not hold temperature. Call sooner if the ice returns within days of a defrost, which points at the defrost heater or its control. A condenser that stays cold while the compressor runs points at the sealed system and is licensed work.
