Benessi Refrigerator: Ice Maker Fault
An ice maker that has stopped has failed at one of three points: water in, freeze, or eject. Which of the three tells you the cause, and the ice itself — none, small, hollow or fused into a block — usually names it before you open anything. What changes the order on Benessi is that the first question is whether the cabinet is frost-free or manual-defrost, because the same frost that is a fault on one is normal operation on the other.

Before you open anything
Safety
Never defeat a door interlock or a safety switch to keep an appliance running, and stop at the first step that would put a meter on live terminals. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off.
Where the owner fix ends
Call a technician when the freezer holds 0 °F (−18 °C), water reaches the dispenser normally, the arm and sensor are clear, and the maker still produces nothing. At that point water and temperature are proven and the fault is in the module or its wiring.
Gaskets, thermostats and start relays are inexpensive and owner-replaceable. A compressor or a refrigerant fault on a compact cabinet is rarely economic to repair.
