Beko Microwave: Abnormal Noise or Vibration
Microwave noise divides into mechanical and electrical, and the two mean very different things. A turntable rattle is trivial; a loud new hum or a buzzing that arrived with slower heating points at the high-voltage side and belongs with a technician. What changes the order on Beko is that the maintenance items the European design exposes to the owner are the ones that block first.
What you are actually seeing

- Note: Beko builds to European rather than US conventions — ventless condenser and heat-pump drying, narrow European cabinet widths, inverter direct-drive motors and tall-tub dishwashers with a serviceable filter stack. The order above is specific to this brand rather than generic: a ventless, direct-drive, filter-first design moves the airway and the filter stack to the top of the list and removes the belt and the vent duct from it entirely.
What to check, and in what order
- Take the glass tray and roller ring out and run the oven for a few seconds with a cup of water — Why here: If the noise goes, it is the turntable assembly, and that removes the whole high-voltage side from consideration.
- Look under the tray for debris on the roller track — Why here: Crumbs and hardened spills grind under the ring.
- Note whether the noise arrived with slower heating — Why here: That combination points at the high-voltage side and changes this from a nuisance to a service call.
- Look through the door for flashes or arcing while it runs — Why here: Arcing means stopping immediately and cleaning or replacing the waveguide cover.

Before you open anything
Safety
Never defeat a door interlock or a safety switch to keep an appliance running, and stop at the first step that would put a meter on live terminals. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. A microwave holds a high-voltage capacitor that can carry a lethal charge after the oven is unplugged. Do not remove the outer cabinet, never defeat a door interlock, and take an oven with a damaged door or seal out of service.
Where the owner fix ends
Call a technician for any loud new hum or buzz, any noise that arrived together with slower heating, or any arcing inside the cavity. Those are high-voltage conditions. A grinding turntable is an owner fix; a buzzing transformer is not.
Boards and inverter modules are model-specific and priced accordingly; filters, gaskets, hoses and pumps are ordinary consumables and are worth doing yourself.
