The short answer
Every no-start on a Beko washer answers to one of two questions: is power arriving, and is the machine being given permission to run? A dark, silent panel is the first; a lit panel that ignores the start control is the second. Deciding which one you have takes a glance and removes half the list.
What you observe
- The panel is dark and nothing responds — No supply: the plug, the receptacle, the breaker or a tripped device.
- The breaker trips again as soon as it is reset — A real fault in the machine or the circuit. Stop resetting it.
- The panel lights but pressing start does nothing — Permission is being withheld - the door, a lock or a delay.
- It starts only when the door is pressed or lifted — The latch is not entering its striker squarely.
- NEAR MISS - it starts and then stalls — That is a cycle fault and the cycle page covers it.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- No power at the receptacle or a tripped breaker — First for a dark panel, and settled in a minute with a lamp.
- Door not latching or interlock not confirming — Second, and the condition a front-loader checks before anything else.
- Child lock, delay start or an unconfirmed programme — Third, and all three cleared by cancelling and starting fresh.
- Failed door interlock — Fourth. The switch can fail after years even when the door latches perfectly.
- Start control or main board — Last, and both need a meter.
Check in this order, and why
- Note whether the panel lights at all — First, because it splits the fault into supply and permission.
- Try a lamp you know works in the same receptacle — Second, if the panel is dark, and check the breaker too.
- Close the door firmly and listen for the interlock — Third. A front-loader will not run until the door is confirmed.
- Cancel and start a plain cycle from scratch — Fourth. It clears a delay start and an unconfirmed selection together.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close both taps before disturbing a hose. Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips again - repeated resetting on a faulted circuit is how a small fault becomes a fire. Never defeat a door interlock, which is what stops the door opening on a drum full of water.

When to call a technician
Call an electrician if the breaker trips whenever the machine is plugged in, and an appliance technician once the supply is proven, the door latches firmly and no lock or delay is set. A machine that trips its supply should not be run in the meantime.
