The short answer
A drain failure is rarely a drain pump. On a Beko washer that will not empty, the part that has actually stopped working is usually a filter full of debris, a hose bent behind the cabinet or an outlet the machine cannot push water into - and all three are found without buying anything.
What you observe
- The drum is full and the pump strains — A blockage - the filter is first.
- Nothing is heard at the drain step — A dead pump, a thermal cut-out or a control fault.
- Draining is slow and the spin leaves clothes soaked — A partial restriction rather than a complete block.
- A sink sharing the outlet also drains slowly — The problem is downstream of the machine.
- NEAR MISS - water on the floor as well — That is a leak; the water-leak page covers it.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Blocked pump filter — First on any front-loader, and the only cause here an owner can both confirm and fix.
- Kinked or crushed drain hose — Second, and common after a machine has been pushed back into place.
- Blocked outlet, standpipe or shared waste — Third, and free to check by running water into a nearby sink.
- Obstructed pump impeller — Fourth, and usually found alongside a loaded filter.
- Failed drain pump — Last, and much rarer than it is blamed for.
Check in this order, and why
- Open the lower access panel and clean the pump filter — First, unplugged, with a tray and towels ready.
- Listen at the drain step for straining or silence — Second, because the two point at different repairs entirely.
- Follow the drain hose for kinks and crushing — Third, and free to correct.
- Run water into any sink sharing the outlet — Fourth. A slow sink means the problem is not the machine.

Safety
Unplug the machine before opening the pump filter, and have towels ready: the drum may still be full and the water can be hot. Close both taps before disturbing a hose. Never tip the machine to empty it, because water reaches the electrics before it reaches the floor.

When to call a technician
Call when the filter is clean, the hose is clear, the outlet drains freely and the pump is still silent at the drain step. Call also if the filter housing will not release - forcing it cracks the housing, and a cracked housing then leaks on every cycle.
