- Note whether frost is at a drawer or on a rear wall — Third, because those are two different faults.
- Check the fresh-food setting and when it last changed — Fourth. Even frost across a wall is usually a setting.

Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never chip frost off a runner, a liner or an evaporator with a metal tool, and never force a drawer that ice has jammed - let it thaw. Do not use a heat gun inside the cabinet.

When to call a technician
Call when frost returns within weeks on a cabinet whose drawers close flush and whose settings are correct, because that is a defrost heater, thermostat or control fault. Call also if a runner is damaged after a jammed drawer has been forced.
