The short answer
A Beko BFBD refrigerator that has gone warm is a bottom-freezer, so the first question is which compartment failed. One evaporator behind the freezer drawer cools both spaces through a duct, and a warm fresh-food compartment above a perfectly cold freezer is therefore a delivery problem rather than a refrigeration one - the commonest call on this family and the one a brand-generic article is least likely to put first.

- A sheet of frost behind the freezer drawer rear panel — A stalled defrost cycle, with the ice now blocking the coil.
- Food at the back of the fridge freezing while door shelves warm — Air arriving at the duct outlet and going no further.
- NEAR MISS - silent and warming — Nothing is running, which is a supply or start-relay fault.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Frost blocking the duct between compartments — First, because every bit of cold the fridge receives passes through one narrow, cold path.
- Evaporator fan not running — Second, and indistinguishable from the first at the shelf: both leave the freezer cold and the fridge warm.
- Freezer drawer not sealing on its rails — Third, and the source of the humid air that becomes the blocking frost.
- Condenser starved of air — Fourth, and the leading cause when both compartments warm together. Check side clearance as well as behind.
- Stalled defrost or sealed-system fault — Last. Both need instruments and both are less common than the four above.
Check in this order, and why
- Read the freezer temperature before the fridge temperature — First, because the answer routes the whole diagnosis down one of two branches.
- Hold the drawer switch in and listen for the evaporator fan — Second. A silent fan with a cold freezer explains a warm fridge completely.
- Empty the drawer and look at the rear panel for frost — Third. A sheet rather than a dusting moves you to the defrost system.
- Check clearance on both sides as well as behind — Fourth, and worth doing on this family because the hinge-side variants get installed into awkward openings.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never chip ice out of the duct or off the evaporator with a knife or screwdriver - the tubing is soft aluminium and a puncture ends the cabinet. Empty the freezer drawer before working at the base.

When to call a technician
Call once the drawer seals, the fan runs and a manual defrost has restored cooling only for the ice to return, because repeated icing is a defrost heater, thermostat or control fault. Call immediately if you see oil at the compressor or smell burning.
