The short answer
The Beko BUFR line is a single-temperature upright freezer column: one cabinet, one evaporator, one full-height door, built to stand in a run of kitchen units rather than free in a room. Two faults dominate it - a defrost route that ices up and an installation that will not let the condenser breathe - and both show first as a cabinet that runs constantly without holding temperature.
What you observe
- Runs constantly but food softens — Condenser airflow or a stalled defrost. Start at the plinth grille, then the rear wall.
- Water under the door or ice under the lowest basket — The defrost drain route has iced over; the water-leak page covers clearing it.
- Ticking, droning or knocking — Evaporator fan, cabinet level, or contact with the joinery. The noise page separates them.
- A periodic clatter and running water — Normal ice-maker operation, and only possible on the IM codes.
- Frost back within weeks of a manual defrost — A gasket admitting humid air, or a defrost component working intermittently.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Airflow and defrost faults — The commonest class here by a wide margin: a niche-mounted column depends entirely on its base grille and on one evaporator.
- Drain and meltwater faults — Second, and downstream of the first - more frost than designed means more water than the drain can carry.
- Noise and installation faults — Third. A tall narrow carcass resonates, and most noise here resolves at the feet or the surround.

When to call a technician
