The short answer
A built-in Beko and Blomberg that has stopped making ice is most often not being given water: a shut-off valve closed during other work, a kinked line inside the cabinet run, or a frozen fill tube. Freezer temperature is the next suspect. The icemaker mechanism itself is the last thing to blame, not the first.
What you observe
- The ice bin is empty and stays empty — No harvest at all, cycle after cycle.
- Ice cubes are hollow, small or misshapen — Water is arriving, but too little of it.
- A block of fused ice in the bin — Cubes melting and refreezing, which points at freezer temperature rather than supply.
- NEAR MISS — no ice and a warm freezer — That is a cooling failure, and the ice is the first symptom of it rather than a fault of its own.
Causes, most likely first on this brand
- The water supply is closed, kinked or restricted — First on a built-in, because the line is installed inside the joinery and is disturbed by any later work under the sink or behind the cabinet run. A valve closed by a plumber months ago is a very common finding.
- A frozen fill tube — Second: if the freezer runs colder than needed, the last of the water in the fill tube freezes and plugs it, so each cycle delivers less than the one before. Small and hollow cubes are the signature.
- Freezer temperature too warm to harvest — Third. The icemaker will not release cubes until its mould reaches its release temperature, so a freezer that is even slightly warm stalls the whole cycle.
- The icemaker module, its fill valve or the bin sensor — Last, and the only part of this list that is a parts job. On a built-in it also means drawing the unit out, which is why it is checked last.
Check in this order, and why
- Find and check the supply shut-off valve — It is the leading cause and it costs nothing to check.
- Look at the cube shape before anything else — Hollow or small cubes mean restricted water; no cubes at all means no water or no harvest.
- Check the freezer temperature against zero Fahrenheit, minus eighteen Celsius — Both a warm and an excessively cold freezer cause ice faults, in different ways.
- Only then suspect the module or valve — That needs the appliance drawn out of the joinery.
What an owner can safely check
- Locate the shut-off valve and confirm it is fully open — It is usually under the sink or behind an access panel in the cabinet run.
Tools: torchAbout 20 min
- Check the visible part of the line for kinks — A line pinched behind a drawer box restricts flow without leaking.
Tools: torchAbout 20 min
- Set the freezer to the middle of its range and wait a day — Give the icemaker a full day at a stable temperature before judging it.
About 45 min
- Empty and rinse the ice bin — Fused ice can jam the ejector arm and stop the cycle entirely.
Tools: warm waterAbout 15 min
- STOP HERE if water is reaching the appliance and ice still fails — Fill valve and module checks are a service call on a built-in.
Before you open anything
Safety
Switch the appliance off at its breaker before reaching into the icemaker area or drawing the unit forward — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and the ejector arm can move without warning. Close the water shut-off before disturbing any fitting on the supply line. Do not attempt to pull a built-in out of its opening alone; with a custom door panel it is front-heavy.
When to call a technician
Call when the supply valve is open, the line is unkinked, the freezer is at its normal setting, the bin is clear, and there is still no ice. From there the checks are the fill valve, the module and the bin sensor, all behind the appliance or inside the freezer wall. Call at once if you find water anywhere inside the cabinet run, because a leaking supply fitting inside joinery causes damage long before it becomes visible.

What this page does not cover
This page describes panel-ready Beko and Blomberg built-in refrigerators as a class, not a single model, and not every cabinet in the range has an icemaker. Deliberately absent here: fill-valve and module part identifiers, water-line sizes, cube capacities and harvest timings, which differ by family and belong on the family or model page.
