Controls, Display or Error Code: the short answer
On a cold cabinet with a simple control, most control complaints are not the control at all: they are a power event, a setting, or a condition the control is correctly reporting. The order below rules those out before anything is replaced.
What you are seeing
- the display is blank, dim or showing an abbreviation you cannot find in the manual
- buttons do nothing, or need a hard press
- the setting will not hold and reverts on its own
- the cabinet ignores the setting and runs to a different temperature
- lights flash in a pattern with no cooling change

Unplug the cabinet before you remove any panel or reach behind the toe grille. The sealed system is under pressure and is not an owner-serviceable circuit: never cut, kink, braze or vent a refrigerant line, and never apply heat anywhere near one. A loaded cabinet is heavy and tips forward easily when it is walked out on its front rollers, so empty it first and pull it straight out with a helper rather than levering it on one corner.
