- Too much detergent, or washing-up liquid by mistake — It sits here because one correctly dosed cycle settles the question at no cost. It earns that place across the range.
- A weeping fill hose or inlet connection — Mid-list by frequency and first by urgency: clean water with the machine idle means close the tap now.

Safety
Isolate the machine and close the supply valve before touching any fitting; a capacitor can stay charged after the power is off. Never chase a leak with the machine running and the plinth off. Dry hands, dry floor, and leave the door latch exactly as the maker built it.
