Auseo KS Series Refrigerator is the scope of this page, and on it an ice maker that has stopped producing points first at a clogged water filter or low supply pressure. Where the brand-generic article leads on the water inlet valve or the supply behind it, this roster reverses the top two — the first check is the one you can reach on these cabinets without a teardown. 5 of the 6 causes below can be checked without a tool; the rest need a technician.
What you actually see
- The cubes taste or smell wrong — Ice takes on whatever is in the air and the water line. It is a filtration and storage matter rather than a mechanical fault.
- It fills, freezes and then never ejects — The harvest side has stalled; the cubes sit in the mould and nothing new can be made.
- There is a thin sheet of ice under the bin — Water going somewhere other than into the mould, which is a fill or a seating problem.
- NEAR MISS — water is pooling on the floor — A supply leak needs the water off before anything else. Go to the leak page first.
Causes, most likely first on the KS series
- A clogged water filter or low supply pressure — Pressure decides the fill volume, and fill volume decides cube size. This is the cause that shows up as poor ice rather than as no ice.
- A frozen fill tube — Clearing the tube fixes it for a week. The reason it froze in the first place is low pressure or a partly failed valve, which is why this one comes back.
- The water inlet valve or the supply behind it — The valve is electrically opened and mechanically simple, and it is the single most common failed part in an ice circuit that has gone completely dry.
- The ice maker module, motor or thermostat — This is the part most often replaced and the one it is easiest to blame early. Check the free causes first, because the module is the expensive answer.
- A door that is not closing, or a switch that thinks it is open — It is an easy one to overlook because everything else about the cabinet looks normal, and it often follows a door being adjusted or reversed.
- A bin or ice maker that is not seated properly — Anything that was removed for cleaning and put back slightly out of place shows up here, usually within a day.
The order to work in
- Measure the freezer compartment with a thermometer — A compartment that is not cold enough will never complete a harvest, and no part replacement changes that.
- Check the shut-off arm or sensor before anything else — It takes five seconds, it is free, and it is the single most common reason a working ice maker makes nothing.
- Establish whether water is arriving at all — No water and some water are two different faults with two different lists, and nothing below matters until you know which you have.
- Only then suspect the module itself — It is last because it is the only expensive item on the list and the most frequently replaced without cause.
Safety first
Safety
Treat the machine as live until it is unplugged or its breaker is off, and treat it as charged even then — a capacitor holds its charge after the power is off. The sealed system is off limits. It is licensed work, and a system opened without the right equipment is a system that cannot simply be closed again. Put back every panel, clip and cover you take off before the machine goes back on the supply.

When to call a technician
The split is simple: what you can see, reach and clear with the machine isolated is owner work; anything on the sealed system, and anything needing a reading rather than an observation is not. On this page that puts the ice maker module, motor or thermostat on the far side of the line.
