Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not run a machine that has tripped in order to reproduce the fault for the technician; describe it instead. A standard household branch circuit is 15 A or 20 A, and a machine that trips it is passing enough energy to be dangerous, whatever the machine looks like from the front.
Where the owner fix ends
Call an electrician first when the trip follows the house rather than the machine, when a socket is warm or scorched, or when anybody has felt a tingle. Call an appliance technician when the machine is the common factor, and give them the history: what changed, when the trips started, and at which phase they happen.
