An Arctic Wind washer that runs on indefinitely is usually failing to hold water or failing to reach temperature. Water escaping through a siphoning drain hose makes the machine refill again and again; a failed heater or a misreading sensor makes it wait for a temperature that never comes. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. If you stop a machine mid-cycle, remember the drum may hold hot water behind a locked door; drain through the emergency hose rather than forcing anything. Take care lifting or moving a machine to reach the standpipe, because a washer is heavy and its weight shifts as water moves inside it.
Where the owner fix ends
Call when the hose is correctly positioned, the machine still refills or still waits for heat, because the heater, the sensor and the pressure system now need measurement. Call sooner rather than later on a machine that runs for hours: it is drawing power and heating continuously for a wash it never completes. If the machine has always behaved this way since installation, the drain arrangement is the first thing to have checked, and that may be a plumber rather than a technician.
