Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. The counterbalance spring inside a dishwasher door stays under tension with the door open, and releasing a door skin without controlling it is how fingers get hurt. Never hold the door shut against its latch to test a seal while the machine runs: the interlock protects you from a tub of hot water and it is not negotiable.

Call when the gasket is clean, seated and intact and the door still leaks, because the next candidates are the tub lip and the door alignment and both are bench work. Call for a dropped or falling door as well, since spring and cable work is done under tension. If water has been reaching the floor under the cabinet for weeks, get the floor looked at too, because the joinery absorbs long before anything is visible.
