The short answer
On the Arctic Wind AGD dryer the useful order is airflow, then supply, then the heat components themselves. Airflow is checked without tools, supply is checked at the breaker or the gas valve, and everything past that is read with a meter.
What you see on the AGD line
- Little or no air at the outside vent — The most direct evidence of a restriction there is.
- A gas machine that clicks and glows but never lights — The ignition sequence is starting and not completing.
- The drum turns normally and the load comes out cold — The motor side is fine; only the heat is missing.
- NEAR MISS - the drum does not turn at all — That is a motor, belt or start fault and belongs on the will-not-start page.

Safety
Power off at the breaker and, on a gas machine, shut the appliance valve before working. A dryer is a heavy appliance to pull out and the duct behind it is easily crushed when it goes back, which recreates the fault you have just cleared. Let the cabinet cool before touching anything inside it - the element housing and the burner area stay hot long after a cycle.

When to call a technician
Call if the heat has failed twice after a thermal device was replaced, because a fuse that opens again is doing its job against a restriction that has not been found - very often a crushed duct behind the machine or a run that is far too long. A gas machine that glows without lighting should also be left to a technician rather than retried repeatedly.
