What you are looking at
An AooDen dishwasher that leaks during the wash is usually losing water past the door gasket or over the door lip because the machine has overfilled. A leak confined to the drain phase points at the waste hose or its connection instead. If water appears while the machine is idle, the supply fitting is the only candidate and it needs the tap shut immediately.
How this shows up
- Water appearing only while the machine washes — Door seal or overfill. Watch the water level through a cracked door at fill.
- Water only during the drain phase — The waste hose, its clip or the connection at the sink.
- A wet floor with the machine switched off — Supply side, at mains pressure. Turn the tap off before anything else.
- Foam escaping round the door — Detergent, not a fault. Hand dishwashing liquid in the dispenser does this every time.
- NEAR MISS: a damp patch that appears only after a hot cycle — Steam condensing under the worktop. Check the vent trim before suspecting the tub.
Where the fault usually sits
- Overfilling past the door lip — Ranked first because it is so often mistaken for a gasket fault: a failed level switch or a sticking inlet valve puts water where no seal was designed to hold it.
- Hardened or displaced door gasket — Second. Sets at the lower corners, leaks in the same place every cycle, and is cheap to correct.
- Drain hose split, loose clip or bad connection — Third, and identifiable because the water arrives only when the pump runs.
- Supply fitting weeping — Fourth by frequency, first by damage, because it runs whether or not the machine does.
- Tub or sump seal failure — Last, and the one that usually ends the machine's working life.
Work down this list
- Note the phase in which the water appears — The whole diagnosis hangs on this and it costs one cycle of attention.
- Watch the fill level through a slightly open door — Water anywhere near the door lip means overfilling rather than a seal fault.
- Feel behind the machine with the appliance off — A wet fitting with everything switched off is supply, and it is urgent.
- Inspect the gasket last — It is the most suspected and only the second most likely.
What an owner can safely do
- Dry the floor and lay paper towel across the front and both sides — It records where the water arrives first, which the mop would have destroyed.

- Run a short cycle and watch it rather than leaving it — You are collecting the timing. Nothing else on this page works without it.
About 30 min
- Clean and reseat the door gasket — Warm soapy water, then press it fully back into its channel round the whole perimeter.

- Check the supply fitting with the tap shut and reopened — Dry it, open the tap, watch. Stop here if the leak is inside the cabinet behind a panel.

The hazard on this machine
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Water reaching the base tray of a dishwasher is sitting under live components, so a machine that leaks and trips is one to isolate rather than investigate. Shut the household supply before touching any fitting: the line behind the machine is at mains pressure whether the appliance is running or not.
When to call a technician
Call when the timing points inside the cabinet — a leak that runs throughout the wash with a sound gasket and a correct fill level is a tub or a hose inside the case, and reaching it means pulling the machine out. Call urgently for any supply-side leak you cannot stop at a valve. If the machine overfills, mention that specifically when booking: the level switch and the inlet valve are different parts and knowing which symptom you have decides what arrives in the van.

Where this page stops
This page is class-level guidance for an AooDen dishwasher leak. It names no hose sizes, no gasket profiles and no valve part numbers, because those differ between builds under this badge. Where a family- or model-specific page exists it carries the layout for that build and is the better place to source parts. The supply tap, the waste connection and the plumbing under the sink belong to a plumber, though they account for a real share of leaks blamed on the machine.
