The short answer
Condensation and weak cooling in humid or warm rooms lead the AKDY fault list, and both follow from the glass door rather than from a failing compressor. A cabinet in a garage, a conservatory or a humid kitchen is being asked to do something a glass-door unit does poorly. Real component failures rank well below placement and humidity.
The problems that actually happen, by what you observe
- Water running down the outside of the glass — Room humidity condensing on a cold surface. Physics, not a leak.
- Misting on the inside of the glass — Warm air entering past the seal, usually with frequent opening or a tired gasket.
- Contents cool but not cold in a warm room — A glass door loses heat continuously, so the cabinet struggles where a solid door would not.
- Compressor runs almost continuously — Same cause, seen from the machine's side; or a condenser grille that is blocked.
- Interior lighting failed — Common and cosmetic on display cabinets, though it is what most owners notice first.
- Water pooling under the cabinet — Condensate overflowing the evaporation tray, which happens when the unit works harder than designed.
Problem classes in frequency order on this brand
- Room humidity against a glass door — First, and effectively the defining fault of a glass-door cabinet. Moist room air meets a cold pane and condenses; the wetter the room, the worse it is. It is reported as a leak far more often than as what it is.
- Ambient temperature and cabinet placement — Second. A glass door has far less insulation than a foamed one, so the same cabinet that performs well indoors underperforms in a garage or beside an oven. Nothing is failing; the load has changed.
- Ventilation at the grille — Third. These cabinets usually breathe through a front grille so they can be built in, and a grille blocked by packaging or a kick panel removes the only air path the design has.
- Door seal and self-closing hinges — Fourth. A display door is opened often and a tired gasket or a hinge that no longer pulls the door shut admits warm air continuously, which produces interior misting and higher running time.
- Fan, control and sealed-system faults — Last. Interior fans and lights are cheap and serviceable; sealed-system faults are neither, and on a cabinet of this price they usually end it.
Which of these an owner can fix
Moving the cabinet out of a humid or hot location, clearing the front grille, reducing how often the door is opened, cleaning the gasket and levelling the unit so the door self-closes are all owner work and deal with most reports. Get a second person before you pull the cabinet out or tilt it. Replacing interior lighting is often owner work too. Call a technician when the cabinet will not reach temperature with a clear grille in a normal room, when the interior fan has stopped, or for anything on the sealed system, which is licensed work.

This page is generalized across AKDY refrigerator families and model lines. Glass types, grille positions, hinge fitment and temperature ranges differ by family and belong on the family page where one exists — that page is the more specific answer for your cabinet.
