Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Drain the machine and close both taps before opening the filter. Leave the lid or door switch exactly as fitted: it stops the drum when the machine is opened.
The line between an owner check and a service call
